Tomorrow night, Nashville! Join me, @jontroast, @timhalperin, and @elenowen at @thelocalshow. A few tickets left at RabbitRoom.com!
This is what my weekend looked like, in more ways than one. (This is an old wall at the Warren that dates back to the 1800s. It fell this winter. I remember reading about England’s stone walls in a Bill Bryson book, how he happened upon an old Englishman in the middle of nowhere repairing a wall. The wall wasn’t keeping anything in or out anymore, and Bill asked the guy why he bothered. In true form, the Brit looked at him incredulously and said, “Because it fell.”)
Big thanks to my friend Max Hsu and his crew, as well as @centricitymusic and all the kind people who volunteered, for making this video happen. Link in bio.
I’ve become such a fan of these two. Goodness gracious. @taylorleon and @jessray, killing it at @wellcoffeehouse tonight.
Hey! My pal @ndwilsonmutters has a new movie hitting theaters all over the country on Monday, 3/19! He had me at “hobbit”...
And while we’re talking books, THIS. Finished it last week. There wasn’t one lazy sentence in the whole book.
Why did it take me this long to read this book? So beautiful and convicting. The end just destroyed me. And I happened upon the seed of one of my favorite @BenShive songs!
Morning on the Frio River. Thank God for @laitylodge.
If you need us for the next few days, Jamie and I will be with @andygullahorn, @iamjillphillips, @jtraftonart, Pete Peterson, @nedbustard, and @russramsey1 and about 60 other folks at @laitylodge for the third annual @therabbitroom retreat. So glad to be back.
If you’re a parent, read this book forthwith and follow @readaloudrevival. Seriously, I can’t overstate what joy it brought our family to read books together—so much so that part of the reason I wrote the @wingfeathersaga with such short chapters was to encourage the same. Now that our kids are mostly grown, it’s one of the things I miss the most. So let this book fire you up, then turn off the 📺 for a while each night and go adventuring with your kids. Thanks, Sarah MacKenzie!
This guy. If you’ve seen me on the road for the last couple of years, you’ve probably seen @brandon_hays, either playing drums or working behind the scenes. A fine traveling companion, not least because he loves @jamestaylor_com. His wife is about to have twins, which means this is our last road trip for a while—and the next time you see him there will dark rings under his eyes. Happy, but dark.
And again I give thanks to the good people of @augustineschool for a fun morning. These upperclassmen are smart cookies.
